FitPattern is an iPhone app for recording sewing fittings, organizing pattern projects and fabric information, requesting structured fit reviews, comparing fitting versions, and exporting alteration cards.
System Requirements
FitPattern requires an iPhone running iOS 16.0 or later. An internet connection is required for fit reviews and version comparisons. Local project, fabric, measurement, and saved-record access does not require a FitPattern account.
Photos and Camera
Camera is unavailable
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Find FitPattern.
- Enable Camera access.
- Return to FitPattern and try again.
Photo selection or image saving is unavailable
In iOS Settings, review FitPattern's Photos permission. Photo-library access is used to select fitting and pattern photos. Add access is used when you choose to save an alteration-card image to the photo library.
Photo privacy controls
The photo editor can crop an image, place a face-covering area, and add labeled issue markers. Before creating a share card, review the photo-selection switches and the controls for hiding fabric information and private notes.
Dictation
Dictating fitting notes requires both Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions. If dictation is unavailable, enable both permissions for FitPattern in iOS Settings. Dictated text remains editable before a review is requested.
Fit Reviews
A fit review uses the selected pattern project or creates a new local project when needed. Photos, notes, fabric profiles, and measurement profiles provide review context but are optional. A measurement profile is included only when its privacy setting is "Use for review." The maximum number of successful AI review or comparison results per calendar day is delivered by a remote configuration endpoint hosted on Vercel. If that value is missing or invalid, the app uses a default limit of 20; the effective limit may change when the remote configuration is updated.
If a review fails, check the network connection and retry. Failed requests and invalid responses do not consume a use. Review results are sewing alteration clues and next-fitting validation steps, not guaranteed conclusions.
Version Comparisons
A version comparison requires at least two fitting records in the same pattern project and an internet connection. A completed comparison is saved with the current fitting record.
AI Usage Limit
FitPattern applies the remotely configured daily limit to successful AI review or comparison results. Failed requests and invalid responses do not consume a use. The limit resets automatically on the next calendar day.
Share Cards
Share cards support English or Chinese content and Teacher, Community, Customer, or Personal formats. You can copy the rendered text, save the card image to the photo library, or export it through the iOS share sheet. "Community" is a card format only; FitPattern does not operate a community feed or publish the card automatically.
Exporting Data
Open the Me tab and select "Export Data" to create a JSON file containing saved pattern projects, fitting records, fabrics, measurements, and share-card records. The file contains local photo-path text but does not attach photo image files. Fields and notes are omitted from the current measurement-profile section when a profile is marked "Hide on export." A measurement snapshot stored in an earlier fitting record may remain in the export, so review the JSON before sharing it. You select where the file is sent through the iOS share sheet.
Deleting Data
Individual fitting records, pattern projects, fabric profiles, and measurement profiles can be deleted from their related screens. Deleting a fitting or pattern also deletes its associated saved photo files.
In the Me tab, "Delete All Product Data" removes projects, fitting records, fabrics, measurements, share cards, saved fitting form state, and photo files referenced by saved fitting records. The current deletion logic does not separately remove an image file referenced only by an unfinished or failed fitting form. It does not reset the daily AI usage-limit count. Exported files, images saved to the photo library, and content already shared must be deleted from their destination separately.
Accounts, Sync, and Communication
FitPattern does not provide an account, password, cloud synchronization, social profile, public content feed, comments, friends, direct messaging, or chat. There is therefore no account recovery or password-reset process. App records are stored locally on the device.
